Register Your DOT Account on the Clearinghouse

One-time setup — takes ~10 minutes

Every employer (motor carrier) must create a Clearinghouse account using their USDOT number and Login.gov credentials. If you already have an account, check the box below.

Visit clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov and click "Register". Use your USDOT number to identify your company.

Complete identity verification via Login.gov (the federal identity provider). You'll need a government-issued ID.

Log in to the Clearinghouse successfully and see your employer dashboard. Note your Clearinghouse Employer ID — you'll need it in Step 4.

Purchase a Query Plan

Required before AMS can run annual queries on your behalf

Important: C/TPAs (like AMS) cannot purchase query plans on your behalf. The carrier must purchase directly. Per 49 CFR §382.703, each query costs $1.25 and requires a pre-purchased plan.

Log in to clearinghouse.fmcsa.dot.gov and navigate to Query Plan → Purchase Queries.

Purchase at minimum 1 query per active CDL driver for the annual limited query requirement (49 CFR §382.701(b)). We recommend buying 20–50% extra for pre-employment queries.

Confirm the purchase is complete. Your query plan balance now shows in your Clearinghouse account.

Designate Airport Medical Solutions, Inc. as Your C/TPA

Authorizes AMS to query and report on your behalf

In the Clearinghouse, you must explicitly grant Airport Medical Solutions, Inc. permission to act as your C/TPA (Consortium/Third-Party Administrator). Our Clearinghouse ID is:

If the ID above shows a dash, our Clearinghouse registration is still in progress. Call us at (305) 472-0222 or email michel@amscompliance.com to get the current ID before completing Step 3.

In the Clearinghouse, go to My Account → Manage C/TPAs (or similar menu).

Search for Airport Medical Solutions, Inc. using the ID above and add them as your C/TPA. Grant permissions for: both queries and violation reporting (recommended).

Note your own Carrier Clearinghouse ID from your account settings — you'll provide it to AMS in Step 4.

Confirm Setup in Your AMS Dashboard

Save your designation record so AMS can begin querying

I have completed Steps 1–3 and Airport Medical Solutions, Inc. is now designated as my C/TPA in the FMCSA Clearinghouse.

I understand that AMS may now run annual limited queries on my behalf, and that I must notify AMS of any positive, refusal, adulterated, or substituted results for Clearinghouse violation reporting within 3 business days (49 CFR §382.705(b)(3)).
